God Is GOOD!!!

Anthony and I have had many changes over the past few months and there are plenty more to come. We have been so blessed in the past few months. I've had many worries and concerns with the arrival of our son in May, but with patience and God's love many things have fallen into place. Today we got a call from the manager at the apartment complex we were hoping to live at come April. The manager delivered good news, our application was accepted and we would be able to move into the apartment we wanted the first of April!!! This is a BIG stress reliever for the both of us. I will continue to count my blessings everyday. Life is good!!!

Timing Is Everything

Last night we started our childbirth/newborn care classes at the hospital where Hunter will be born. I scheduled our classes for every Tuesday night in February. Not realizing when I scheduled the classes that Tuesday night is the night we watch all our favorite shows together, oh no!!! On top of scheduling the classes on Tuesdays the start date was the 8th, this was the night of the Purdue vs. IU basketball game (which was played in West Lafayette). Needless to say Anthony was not excited about missing the game. I was looking forward to starting the classes and learning more information about labor and the hospital. Besides feeling awkward about being the youngest couple there, the class went as I expected.

After class was over we hurried to the car to catch the last few minutes of the game on the radio and before we got in the car I noticed the back tire was nearly flat. Being far from home with a flat tire in freezing temperatures wasn't something I was looking forward too. Luckily we were able to get air in the tire and made it home with no problems.

When we got home I was exhausted and had a million things running through my mind. Realizing that timing is everything!!! In the next few months we have a lot of changes coming our way. The biggest (and best) change being the arrival of Hunter David Michael in the spring.  There are so many things to do before he arrives I was feeling a little overwhelmed. Once I was able to relax and remember that God will never give us more than we can handle. I felt much better and was once again excited about all the new changes coming our way :)

Shower #1 Was A Success!!!

Today we had our first baby shower with our Lafayette family and friends. Although it started off a little rough, it was overall a success. Besides the weather not cooperating, there was a little confusion and drama when we arrived at O'Charley's. The room they had originally  reserved for us was in use. So in a rush to get us a spot they sat us (a party of 20+) in the middle of other customers enjoying their lunch. After much frustration the manager cleared the room, gave us free appetizers and gave everyone a free meal. THANK YOU O'CHARLEY'S!!!I was very happy to spend time with friends and family. I have been quite the hermit crab during my pregnancy and don't visit with friends much. We received a great amount of gifts. I feel so blessed and thankful for all the wonderful things we received for Hunter today. He is most definitely going to be well dressed/handsome little guy. Some of the items we received were:

baby blankets, onesies, lots of clothes, bath stuff, bath robe,Hunter's first piggy bank (with money in it), swim trunks, diapers and wipes,Colt's hoodie with sweats, IU booties, Purdue socks and an awesome baby scrapbook (with Hunter's name on it and decorated for each major event of his first year).

Thank you to everyone that made this day special. Anthony and I truly enjoyed it and we are thankful for everything.

Another New Adventure

Anthony has been waiting for a call about a possible new job. Well, today he got the call and accepted the position!!! It's a position at a correctional facility. This is a position he has been searching and applying for months and months. Anthony is very excited about the position and I am very proud of him for pursing a career he has been wanting for awhile. This new job adventure also means we will be relocating our family closer to Indy. We keep praying things fall into place closer and closer to the arrival of Hunter, so far things are looking up. We definitely have some new adventures heading our way in the next few months and we are very excited (and a little anxious at the same time).

The Doctor Delivers Good News!!!

This past week we went in for our 25 wk ultrasound. This was our 6th ultrasound!!! More than most women have during a pregnancy due to my placenta being so low and risk of delivering early. Hunter looks great!!! He was very active (as usual) and even gave us a look at his face. The ultrasound tech said there is no doubt he is a boy. He is in the 64% which puts him a little larger than average (not a big surprise to us). During the ultrasound the tech pointed out that my placenta had moved up 3 cm and was right where it needed to be. Thank God!!!! This was a BIG stress off our shoulders. I was so nervous going into the appointment thinking the doctor was going to tell me  I wouldn't be allowed to work or even move from the bed soon, but instead she was very pleased with the movement of my placenta and how well the baby was doing. So hopefully no C-Section!!! The doctor was still a little concerned as to why I still have some bleeding and cramping from time to time. She kept me on a modified bed rest routine, but feels there is nothing serious going on :)

At my next doctors visit (29 wks) I get to enjoy the wonderful drink for my glucose check (I am not looking forward to this). After my next visit I will be seeing the doctor every 2 weeks. We are so ready to meet our little man. By all the kicks and punches I have been receiving lately I think he is ready to break out into the world!!! He still has a little time to grow and develop, but we are getting very excited about his arrival!!!

Starting Our Blog...

As Anthony and I sat at home tonight trying to decide what to do, we decided to create a blog. We have enjoyed reading his sister Roxanne's blog and updates about Nora (her bundle of joy on the way) and thought maybe our friends and family would enjoy reading about our journey. We are kind of new at "blogging". I took an entire course at IUPUI on blogging websites, but I easily forgot most of what I learned in the course. I'm sure some of you will get a good laugh while we figure out all the ins and outs of blogging. We are excited to share photos and stories about our new families journey with all of you. See you on our next post!!
